Conservation & Restoration
Our twenty five years of restoration and conservation has given us a breadth of experience in the field of stained and leaded glass windows. We offer a comprehensive service including initial surveys and reports. Our in-house designers and stained glass artists are able to reproduce missing and damaged fragments, returning panels to their original condition, insuring that they continue to enhance the often historic buildings they came from.
New Windows: We offer supply only or supply and fix services. We have installed thousands of leaded windows across the country and all our lights are made by hand by skilled craftsmen and women who use high quality lead 'came' using a range of traditional and modern glass types.
Previous Projects - Before and After Images
Reproduction of a Destroyed Panel | This shows the processes we undertake to reproduce a copy of a lower panel that was destroyed.
From a photograph of the original window taken many years prior to the damage, we produced a cartoon to work from, then matched glass from the remaining glazing before leading and fitting. |
Rebuild of an Original | From the first picture, we removed the tracery panel, then glass was carefully chosen to match the original. This was then shaped, stained and leaded before refitting. |
